Research technician to join the Big Data in Health Group at the Primary Care Research Centre, working across the NIHR CNC for methodologies. About the NIHR CNC

A Multiple Long-Term Conditions Cross-NIHR Collaboration (MLTC CNC), has been established to bring together the NIHR’s translational, applied and policy research infrastructure to respond to the NIHR Strategic Framework for MLTC Research; and work together to tackle the MLTC research questions that could not be achieved without this cross-disciplinary collaborative endeavour. This Collaboration will be inclusive of all parts of NIHR, including the NIHR Infrastructure (Biomedical Research Centres, Applied Research Collaborations etc.), Schools and Units. We are recruiting a part time research technician to join ‘The Methodologies Workstream’ within the CNC. This workstream is led by Associate Professor Hajira Dambha-Miller (University of Southampton) and Professor Colin McCowan (University of St. Andrews). This workstream aims to identify the key challenges around research methodologies (including data science, recruitment, and analysis methods) to treat and prevent MLTC and addressing the consequences of MLTC. The position will be based within The Big Data in Health Group (BDiH) at the University of Southampton, supervised by Dr Hajira Dambha-Miller. However, the role will primarily be remote. About the Role

The Research Technician will have an understanding of the MLTC field, with strong organisational and administrative skills. They will have good writing skills, work independently and contribute to drafting high-quality academic research papers and convey methodological results through presentations using interactive visualisations. The post is funded for 6 months initially, with the potential for extension depending on progress and funding availability. About You:

We are seeking applicants with understanding of MLTC and methodologies for health research. The ideal candidate will have: Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. An ability to contribute to the drafting research papers and presenting findings through clear and effective visualisations. Familiarity with the challenges of research in the context of MLTC and complex health data. Experience and qualifications in research methodologies, data science, statistics, epidemiology, or related fields are highly desirable. Application Details
