7th January 2025 at 23:59pm We are looking to recruit a residential childcare worker to support us in the delivery of overnight short breaks for children with learning disabilities aged from 5-17 years in our Blackpool home. Our children may have total care needs, medical needs, physical disabilities and some may present challenging behaviors. The applicant will need to have an understanding of the additional needs children with disabilities have and be willing to offer care and support to meet those needs. (Training will be provided) Alongside this, duties include planning activities and supporting young people to have fun and develop their interests and independence. You will need to be excellent at communicating, child-focused, and have good organisational skills. You will need to demonstrate your ability to safeguard children. Additionally, you will need to contribute to the daily run of the home, household and domestic tasks, and complete young people's records electronically. Your application should detail your experience, knowledge, and skills in line with the job specification. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/vulnerable adults. This post is subject to satisfactory reference history of at least two years, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications, and proof of Right to Work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and amendments to the exemptions order, which mean that certain offences are ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed, guidance on the "filtering" of offences can be found at New filtering rules for DBS certificates (from 28 November 2020 onwards) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) The successful applicant will be required to work outside of a 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday work pattern and will receive an additional payment on top of the quoted salary as a result.
