£11.52 per hour We are looking for dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our established Residential Team at Bay View on a casual basis, covering shifts as needed. You’ll be working in one of our family-feel children’s homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, with a maximum of four young people per home. This amazing opportunity allows you flexibility to work the hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation. Our service requires individuals who will help guide young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to success and who are dedicated to supporting our ethos. You will support in providing a safe, secure, homely, and positive environment for the children and young adults in the home so that their lives are progressively improved. All our homes are rated either ‘Good or Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and we need individuals to continue improving and developing the quality, image, and reputation of the Home. You must be over 21 years of age and hold a full UK driving license. It is a requirement that you hold a Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People. Principal Accountabilities

To carry out duties as a Childcare Worker and Key Worker to consistently exceed the National Standards set by Ofsted. To ensure the highest possible standard of childcare is provided to the children who are resident in the Home. To systematically improve the lives of all young people who are resident at the Home. To build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with family, friends, and any other external body as requested by the Registered Manager. To contribute to a culture of trust and mutual respect between all involved in the Home, both children and staff. The Provision of Childcare

Contribute to the development of appropriate and high-quality care plans for each young person. Adhere to all legal requirements, Ofsted standards, and the policies and procedures of Bay View Childcare at all times. Communicate any feedback received from residents, family, friends, placing authorities, and other relevant parties to the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager. Keep the Home clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times. Build constructive and trusting relationships with the children in the Home, ensuring a full understanding of their personal background and individual needs. Be approachable, friendly, and professional, engaging proactively with the children to create an open, positive, and inclusive environment. Work constructively with the children to add to their quality of life and build foundations for future personal success. Actively supervise the children and ensure their safety, looking out for signs of unease, frustration, or unhappiness. Manage and de-escalate any conflict situations in line with Bay View Childcare policies and procedures. Proactively communicate any issues and concerns relating to the children to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and Shift Leader. Carry out risk assessments for all new activities as requested. Participate in activities with the children, doing things with them as a good parent would. Discharge all responsibilities as a ‘Key Worker’, ensuring that all children are treated as individuals. Maintain regular and constructive communication with the family and friends of the children for whom you are the ‘Key Worker’. Remain positive in participation in activities with the children and in relaying personal life experiences. Contribute actively and constructively to reviews of any child for whom you are the ‘Key Worker’. Follow all company policies and procedures diligently and complete all necessary paperwork. Ensure the quality of food provided to the children meets pre-agreed standards and assist with cooking and purchasing foodstuffs as required.
