Location : East Huntspill, Highbridge Contract : Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover Salary : Unqualified - £12.79 per hour; Qualified - £13.11 per hour plus sleep-in shifts when required Headway Adolescent Resources was formed in 1999 and has established a good reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector. We pride ourselves on having the insight and ability to care for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background. We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This opportunity provides flexibility to work hours you can commit to, with no contractual obligation. As a Residential Child Care Worker in a children's residential home, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour. You will need to be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organised, as well as committed to providing a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes. Applicants must have: Full manual driving license Previous experience of working with challenging young people (desirable, not essential) Willingness to work towards the fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified) Ability to work on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records Good inter-personal skills and be a positive team player Ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements Empathetic nature Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people A sleep-in allowance of £36 per night as and when the business needs Headway is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
