We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

Property Paralegal

to join our clients expanding legal team in Taunton. The ideal candidate will assist solicitors in managing residential property transactions, from inception to completion, while providing comprehensive administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of

residential property transactions , for both sales and purchases.

Draft and review legal documents, including

contracts, leases, and transfer deeds .

Conduct

property searches

(Land Registry, local authority, environmental, and water/drainage searches) and compile reports on title.

Handle pre- and post-completion tasks, including

SDLT submissions

and

Land Registry applications .

Liaise with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and mortgage lenders to ensure smooth and timely transaction progression.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Monitor deadlines and manage task prioritisation to ensure compliance with client needs and timelines.

Support senior solicitors with administrative tasks, including correspondence drafting, file management, and billing procedures.

Key Requirements:

Previous experience

in a property law department is not essential.

Familiarity with

case management software

and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and third parties in a professional manner.

Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage a varied workload.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of

Taunton property market

would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

Completion of a

legal studies diploma

(CILEx, LPC, or equivalent) or relevant legal qualification.

A

law degree

is beneficial but not essential, as relevant experience will also be considered.
