Senior Therapeutic Intervention & Edge of Care Outreach Worker | Full time | £33,912 - £35,448 | Sleep in duties | Shift work across 7 days a week, over the full year including Christmas, New Year and other bank holidays This post will be based across provider services in Windsor, Teddington and Surbiton Children’s homes. Achieving for Children (AfC) is opening a second children's home whilst also developing our outreach services to children and young people on the edge of care. Therefore we are now looking to recruit workers who are attracted to a role which will include both working within a children's home setting and offering outreach support to children in the community. About the role
The role entails safeguarding the well-being of all children in the home, addressing issues promptly, and acting as a key worker for identified youth. Collaborating with the team, providing guidance on effective care practices, and managing challenging behaviors are essential. Communication with social workers, schools, and relevant professionals is vital for consistent care whilst building relationships with relatives and advocates. You will also be given a small caseload of children and young people who require edge of care interventions and support as we develop our outreach service. About you
The successful candidate will possess the following: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare Experience in leading a team, undertaking line management, performance management and change management. Knowledge of relevant theory that informs practice delivery. Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families. Advocating the voices of those we are working with. Proven ability to effectively use data, intelligence and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision making. Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people). Experience of providing 1-to-1 outreach support to children, young people and families in their own homes and in the community. About our benefits
