Post is 22Hrs – (15hrs funded permanently + 7 Hrs funded for 18months). The respiratory nursing team in NHS Borders is responsible for providing specialist respiratory care support and expertise for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions (excluding lung cancer). An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join our Respiratory Nurse Specialist team. The post holder will be working in both hospital and community settings. Acutely

– across the BGH site offering support/advice and expertise in the management of acutely ill respiratory patients. Outpatient

– including nurse led clinics for interstitial lung disease, oxygen/nebuliser assessment and Biologic therapies. Community

– domiciliary visits for patients on long term oxygen therapy and patients in community hospital settings. You will have the opportunity to work in a small, friendly, forward-thinking Respiratory Team to deliver high standards of care for people with Respiratory conditions and their families/carers. The post holder will be required to undertake Exposure Prone Procedures (EPP). This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
