Job Description

P/T Respite Support Workers required to provide support in Dailly, South Ayrshire. This role involves working once a month, as well as potentially 2 to 3 times a year to cover respite for the gentleman's parents.

Hours:

To be discussed at interview

Rate of Pay:

£13 to £14 per hour depending on experience

Annual Leave:

Based on 5.6 weeks pro rata

We are looking for genuinely caring and reliable support workers to assist a gentleman in his own home, providing his parents with some much-needed respite.

The Respite Shifts Include:

Early shifts

Back shift

Overnight support

The gentleman requires 24-hour support when his parents are on holiday, which will be provided by his support workers, with potentially additional support from family.

There are no personal care requirements as this is handled by his care support team, but in an emergency, you may need to assist.

You will need to ensure his wellbeing needs are met by engaging in conversation. He enjoys good banter, discussing everyday topics, and has a wicked sense of humour.

His passions include football, particularly Celtic, good comedy, watching football on TV, and listening to music.

Skills Required:

Previous experience working in the care sector is a distinct advantage.

You will be required to Peg feed, Peg Flush, and administer medications through the peg. Training can be provided if you do not have this experience.

Completion of daily logs.

Liaising with family and professionals as required.

Adhering to confidentiality.

Learning and adhering to daily routines.

Learning from his family and support team.

Asking questions if you are unsure of something.

Must be a driver with own transport due to location.
