We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our small & friendly team on a 30 Hour Fixed Term Post. The successful candidate will be delivering a range of resuscitation training to clinical staff across the Trust and to external clients, providing support at cardiac arrests and undertaking audits and debriefing when deemed necessary. There will also be a requirement to work in collaboration with our clinical simulation team. Recent experience in acute care is required and previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse/AHP and possess a current Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Instructor Certificate. This is a Band 6 post but we would be happy to discuss opportunities for a Band 5 development post for the right applicant. If this is of interest to you we would love to hear from you! Main duties of the job

To provide resuscitation training and education within the guidelines of the Trust, the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. To provide resuscitation and deteriorating patient simulation training and education packages which reflect current evidence and policy based practice using simulators and other relevant equipment under the direction of the Lead Educator for Resuscitation. To assist in the planning, organisation and implementation of resuscitation training and education both within the Trust and to external organisations, in accordance with the guidelines of the Trust, the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. To assist in the planning, organisation and implementation of resuscitation and deteriorating patient simulation education programmes using high and low fidelity simulators and other relevant equipment. The post holder will work with a wide range of staff both internally and externally in accordance with the guidelines of the Trust. To work as a member of the cardiac arrest team providing specialist clinical advice, including specific advice on and interpretation of complex documentation and procedures on clinical and related professional issues. To attend cardiac arrests/emergency situations, involving adults, paediatrics and trauma patients both leading and operating as a team member as required. To participate in research and audit in relation to Resuscitation. To participate in trials and evaluations of resuscitation equipment across the Trust. Ability to direct Resuscitation Council (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group Courses. Person Specification

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

1st Level Registration (UK) Nurse/ODP/Paramedic. Resuscitation Council (UK) ALS Full Instructor/IC. Evidence of CPD. Critical Care/equivalent Qualification. Resuscitation Council (UK) EPALS Instructor/IC. Formal Teaching & Assessing Qualification (not mentorship). KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Evidence of recent post Registration experience in an acute care area. Evidence of experience of work within Resuscitation/ Simulation training. Evidence of experience of clinical audit. Evidence of teaching in current role. SKILLS & ABILITIES

Evidence of excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Evidence of ability to work without supervision and manage time effectively. Evidence of ability to work flexibly. Evidence of ability to work within a team effectively. Evidence of a full driving license with ability & access to drive own car. Evidence of ability to work as an expert practitioner. Evidence of successful management of change. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
