Working with the Resuscitation Officer the post holder will be responsible as a member of the resuscitation education team for: The development of the Resuscitation Skills Lab as an education resource which provides a safe and effective learning environment. The delivery of multi-disciplinary resuscitation education for Trust staff and learners on placement. The development and evaluation of resuscitation skills education programmes. The development of multimedia technology-based education resources. The development of simulation facilities and courses related to resuscitation. Research and audit for resuscitation skills education. Line management of identified junior staff within the department. About us

To assist with the planning, development, delivery and assessment of specialised resuscitation skills education programmes and assessments within simulation for learners and Trust employees. To set up and maintain equipment for teaching sessions as required. To assist with the planning, organisation, and scheduling of accredited resuscitation courses for relevant clinical staff and learners on placement within the Trust. To maintain a professional attitude at all times, developing the role of theResuscitation Skills Facilitator in the best interests of the patient and profession in accordance with their relevant professional body e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council(NMC)/ Health and Care Professions Council Code of Conduct. To assist with the development and implementation of a strategy and associated Version September 2024teaching and assessment resources for resuscitation education within the Trust. Experience and Knowledge

Relevant clinical experience as a registrant Relevant clinical experience in acute care Previous experience leading a team Awareness of teaching and assessment methods Proficiency in a wide range of clinical skills Able to explain how to promote best practice and apply evidence-based practice IT literate with experience of using PowerPoint, Excel, Word and e-mail Experience of teaching in different settings Experience of supervising, mentoring and assessing students and other health care staff Experience of clinical or educational audit or research Qualification and Professional Training

Registered Nurse or Midwife or equivalent professional qualification e.g. HCPC registrant First Level Degree/ Level 6 qualification or ability to complete within 2 years of appointment Working towards or willingness to undertake relevant MSc or level 7 qualification Evidence of developed resuscitation and clinical skills knowledge Immediate Life Support ILS & Paediatric Recognised post registration teaching qualification or equivalent experience Resuscitation Instructor (RCUK) Qualification or willingness to work towards Immediate Life Support (or equivalent) Provider or Instructor Skills and Abilities

Ability to lead and motivate Personal and professional credibility Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Well-developed problem solving, critical appraisal and decision-making skills Required to exert moderate physical effort for several short periods Required to exert moderate mental effort Possess high levels of manipulation and dexterity skills for performing resuscitation and clinical skills Manage conflicting views during training and be prepared to challenge healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive optimal clinical treatment Possess developed communication skills when conversing with healthcare professionals and for debriefing Ability to form positive working relationships with multi-professional colleagues Prepare for unpleasant working conditions when attending clinical situations Seen as local "expert" for Resuscitation Skills and act as the Trust representative where appropriate Meet requirements to maintain accredited Resuscitation Council Instructor/Provider status Personal Qualities
