The Purpose of the Role Working as part of the Retail Audit Team, the Retail Auditor will play a key role in providing assurance to Senior Management that our stores are operating as expected, that key financial and operational controls are in place and functioning in a satisfactory manner from a risk and control perspective. Working as Retail Auditor you will: Conduct quarterly audits of stores using a detailed audit programme to evaluate internal controls on operations, security, and safety. Collaborate with store colleagues to develop and agree on recommendations addressing audit findings. Provide clear audit summary reports, including findings, recommendations, and actions with timelines, to Store and Area Managers. Track, follow up, and document the implementation of audit recommendations. Escalate overdue recommendations or critical operational issues, such as serious security concerns or potential fraud, to Senior Management. Contribute to monthly audit activity reports for submission to the Loss Prevention Manager. Assist in planning and scheduling audits to ensure comprehensive coverage of retail locations. Support the ongoing improvement of the retail audit programme and related risk tools. Conduct audits or investigations on specific themes or risks, including fraud, as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager. Provide tailored support and training to Store and Area Managers through workshops or individual sessions. Undertake additional projects as assigned by the Manager. Contribute to continuous process improvement. Skills for Success Joining us as Retail Auditor the minimum criteria you’ll need is: A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths. At minimum of one year’s experience in a retail or loss prevention role. Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Holds a full, valid UK/EU driving license. The Attributes you’ll need include: Demonstrated capability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Strong commercial awareness and business acumen. Outstanding interpersonal and persuasion skills. Highly self-driven with the ability to independently manage workloads. Collaborative team member with proven leadership abilities. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. It is Desirable if you have: Experience of EDGEPoS back-office systems. Experience in retail management. Familiarity with retail legislation and compliance. Skills in conducting audits. Are we right for you?
