Retail Lending Control Manager , you'll be responsible for leading and building out an enhanced control framework which supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment. Additionally, you'll ensure the team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation. Job responsibilities In partnership with Lending stakeholders in Operations and Product, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business' operational risk and control environment to develop a Risk & Control Assessment, identify significant control gaps, weaknesses and determine the root cause of control breaks Ensure that controls are properly designed and operating effectively Support a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and robust change management protocols Review and analyse programme-related data (e.g. KRIs/KPIs) to proactively identify existing and emerging operational risks to business-related programmes and strategies Collaborate with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit and technology control functions to further establish and maintain business relationship loops Required qualifications, capabilities and skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Financial service experience in retail lending, controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance is preferred Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate the operational risk and control environment in conjunction with business partners Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner Passion to grow as part of a team Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills Experience working and efficiently delivering in an information technology area / environment is a plus (e.g. IT Auditing, Programming Controls, Data Management and Governance or the like) Experience working in an Agile environment a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Experience of JIRA and Confluence a plus
