Who we are: St David’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for local people, delivering specialist care to adult patients with life-limiting illnesses or those in need of end-of-life care and their families. Every year, this touches the lives of over 1000 people within our local communities from across the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. We offer 24-hour care, 365 days a year providing a clinical service alongside emotional, physical and spiritual support. In our Day Therapy Centres, we provide patient care, bereavement, and counselling services, whilst our Inpatient Units in Llandudno and Holyhead offer symptom control, respite, and end of life care. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We have three clinical sites, and a Hospice at Home service, and our café and 15 retail outlets across Northwest Wales, along with all our departments play an important role in supporting our services. The Hospice is all about people. Integrity and care are at the heart of our culture and will be centric to the role. What you’ll do:

Support the Head of Retail in the implementation of rotas, standards, policies and training across all St David’s Hospice staff and volunteers in our 15+ stores. Contribute towards the overall St David’s Hospice retail strategy for the next three years and beyond, including shop refurbishment plans, merchandising and income targets. Provide support to the Shop Managers and Donation Centre Manager in their duties. Perform administrative duties such as completing council tax relief forms, rotas and emails. Administer staff absence/leave using the hospice's HR database, Breathe HR. Ensure all holidays, sickness and other absences of salaried staff are recorded appropriately in line with the Hospice procedures. Embrace the Hospice's IT systems and keep abreast of new technologies which can help develop the role. Provide remote and one-to-one support to Shop Managers and Relief Managers. Utilize all available systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting and responses. Maximize profitability across the department through effective management of cost controls and stock allocation. Develop professional and positive working relationships with Shop Managers, the Donation Centre Manager, volunteers, and colleagues across the Hospice. Assist the Head of Retail in ensuring that financial targets are being met and assisting Shop Managers with any concerns. Contribute to the development of new seasonal stock and merchandise. Work with the Donation Centre teams to ensure that systems and processes are up to date and workable. Handle complaints from staff, volunteers, and the public, escalating as necessary. Ensure that all paid team members complete mandatory e-learning appropriate to their role, and in a timely manner. Undertake risk assessments, and spot checks for each shop and ensure that health and safety policies and procedures are always adhered to. Escalate any health and safety concerns. What you’ll need:

Experience of providing customer service. Excellent communication skills. Full UK driving licence. Empathy for the Hospice, and alignment with the charity’s values. What you’ll get in return:
