Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated RF Engineer with mid-level experience in RF circuit design and hands-on wireless communications engineering experience, to be based on the railway accessible site. The ideal candidate should also be proficient in using design tools such as Altium and circuit simulation software. Experience in coding with Python is highly desirable for driving instruments and analysis, as you will be working on both hardware and software aspects of RF system development and testing. You will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle from concept, initial development, core design, product testing, certifications, and readiness for market - driving out defects to bring products to market on time and on budget and through to post-launch support. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop RF circuits for a variety of applications, ensuring high performance and reliability using RF Design tools. Perform RF testing and validation using network analysers, spectrum analysers, signal generators, and other test equipment. Develop and optimise PCB layouts using Altium Designer. Use circuit simulation tools to analyse and optimise designs for RF performance. Design of Digital to RF Transceivers (SDR), Phase Locked Loops, power amplifiers, downconverters, transmitters, and filters for auxiliary broadcast and surveillance products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF designs into larger systems. Write Python and MATLAB scripts to automate testing procedures and analyse data. Troubleshoot RF design issues and propose solutions. Create and maintain technical documentation, including test reports, schematics, and design notes. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in RF circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in using network analysers, signal analysers, and general electronic RF test equipment. Experience with PCB design software, particularly Altium Designer. Familiarity with RF simulation tools (e.g., ADS or Microwave Office). Programming experience in Python for automation and data analysis. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication, both verbal and written. Preferred Skills: Experience with RF Transceiver devices such as Analogue Devices AD9361. Understanding of wireless communication protocols. Knowledge of RF system-level design and integration.
