Sector: Manufacturing Town: Earls Colne Pay: Up to £65,000 Top Job Recruitment are looking for an RF Engineer for a marketing leader in wireless technology based in Earls Colne. The company boasts technical knowledge that has led the industry for over 50 years, designing innovative products and turnkey solutions that provide reliable connectivity in the toughest environments across the global live production, military, and government sectors. The company designs and manufactures a range of RF video links, primarily, but not exclusively using COFDM modulation, with an aggressive and forward roadmap to integrate new radio technologies such as Mesh systems and 5G into its portfolio. As the RF Engineer, you will be involved at all phases of the product lifecycle from concept, initial development, core design, product testing, certifications and readiness for market - driving out defects to bring products to market on time and on budget, and later providing post-launch support. You should have an eye to the future – keeping yourself familiar with the latest technological advances within your field so that new ideas are available to the business as required. RF Engineer Responsibilities Include:

Design and develop RF system designs ranging from simple to complex. Design and develop RF hardware and PCB modules for inclusion into products and assemblies. Design of Phase Locked Loops, power amplifiers, downconverters, transmitters, receivers and transceivers for broadcast and surveillance products. Simulation of RF designs using computer-aided design tools such as Microwave Office. Generate design specifications, concepts, analysis, detail drawings, assembly instructions/documentation, assembly and test fixture designs, test specifications and user manuals for products and assemblies whether for new products or enhancements to existing ones. Provide support and assistance for other development engineers within our engineering design teams. Raise, assess and implement engineering change requests (ECR). Monitor new RF technologies and components and implement as applicable into the work allocated. Ensure that appropriate processes and disciplines are maintained in order to engineer class-leading quality designs. Advise on various radio technologies within the 100MHz to 10GHz band. Circuit level design of radio transmitters and receivers using Altium. Specification and test of amplifiers and filters. Work closely with the wider team to develop an architecture and implementation system requirements. Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluation of next-generation platforms. Develop efficient, scalable and quality RF designs to be deployed in next-generation devices and document RF designs. RF Engineer Essential Skills And Experience:

Experience of COFDM transmitters and receivers. Experience of Analog devices AD/DA devices. Experience of in linear pre-distortion correction techniques. Basic knowledge of Cadstar PCB for legacy design support. Proven experience of developing RF transmitters and receivers from specification through to volume production. Experience with RF measurement equipment. Experience of working with external test houses on radio certifications (Both RED and FCC). Knowledge of RF PCB layout. Experience in troubleshooting, performance analysis, and performance optimization for RF circuits. Develop innovative design techniques and document design solutions. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of delivering to strict deadlines. Highly effective verbal and written skills, including technical authorship. Apply now Apply for this job
