OUR CHALLENGES ARE YOUR OPPORTUNITIES Petroineos Refining and Trading is one of the largest independent refiners trading in Europe. We are seeking a Rigger to join our Maintenance team on a temporary basis. The purpose of the role is to provide lifting operation support across the refinery on behalf of assets as per BS 7121 and LOLER Regulations. The rigger will carry out aforementioned remit safely, efficiently and cost effectively while complying with all company procedures and international standards. The role will also include periods of deputation for Appointed Person/Heavy Lift Specialist. Key Responsibilities:

Select lifting equipment according to load weights and sizes. Act as lift controller when required to physically control lifting operations involving cranes. Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to manoeuvre over, under and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques. Create and/or update Lifting documentation where they are missing, where there are mistakes or there are omissions identified and ensure the appropriate updates to master documentation is completed once verified by the Heavy Lift Specialist. Identify and implement improvements to work methods and equipment to eliminate faults and inefficiencies to improve overall reliability and HSE performance. Education, Skills & Experience:

Required: Previous Experience working on a top tier COMAH Site. SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Erecting/Rigging or equivalent. Qualified Banksman / Signaller. Preferably, candidates should have experience post apprenticeship. Flexible and have the ability to work under pressure as well as work well on their own, and act on their own initiative. Proficient in computer systems and be able to network effectively with a strong bias for action towards continuous improvement and provide significant drive where required. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Desirable: Preferably, candidates should have experience post apprenticeship. ECITB ACE accredited. CPCS-A62, Qualified Crane Supervisor. Appointed person. Fork Lift license. Salary up to circa £45k depending on experience.
