London Reference: HH/RF-12648 A specialist Travel Insurance company is currently recruiting for a Compliance and Risk Manager to manage their UK and EU operations. Job purpose:

Based remotely, with distinct responsibility for the Risk and Compliance of the UK Branch and some EU exposure, providing insight and guidance to the business on all aspects of Risk and Compliance to which the UK Branch is exposed. The role holder will ideally have held SMF 16 or 19, will be required to have at least 4-5 years in Risk or Compliance roles with a UK/EU Insurance company and will be a key member of the UK Branch, also playing a leading role in the successful management of the business. Key accountabilities: In conjunction with the Head of Risk and Compliance, manage and further develop the Risk Management and Compliance plans for the UK Branch. Have sufficient independence to influence proposals or decisions which affect the Company’s exposure to risk and compliance, including but not limited to, new business and new product proposals. Report on the overall risk and compliance exposure to the Chief Risk Officer and the Head of Compliance respectively. Establish effective internal governance procedures and monitor adherence to them. Oversight of Compliance for the business's distributors' sales of travel, gadget, and wedding insurance products. Accountable to the FCA/PRA for compliance with regulations, guidance, and correspondences. Skills, know-how and experience: Must have: Good understanding of UK regulatory requirements including Solvency II and Insurance distribution directive. Proven ability to maintain and monitor the effectiveness of risk in the UK Branch. Promote sound and effective risk management. Foster good working relationships internally and externally. Ability to clearly communicate complex issues with numerical ability. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Pragmatic approach to problem solving. Technical / professional qualifications: Experience in the financial services sector at a senior level, preferably in risk management and compliance.
