Risk and Compliance Manager
/ circa £90,000 / Permanent / London - Hybrid
Overview: My client, a leading global Insurer that specialises in Health and Travel insurance, is looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role based in their London office. They are looking for an individual to support the performance of the European insurance business through the implementation of an effective Risk & Compliance Management program and maintain current relationships with Internal and External Stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities: Support the Head of Risk & Compliance Europe in the execution of the compliance monitoring and assurance plan. Accountable for the completion of the compliance monitoring programme locally. Review, modify, and update company policies and related governance documentation. Provide advice to the business on compliance matters and ensure they understand their specific regulatory obligations within their jurisdictions. Support all interactions with the regulators. Support the Risk & Controls Manager in strategic, operational or project risk assessments. Identify and interpret upstream regulatory changes that impact the business. Continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
Skills and Experience: Experience in a Compliance role within financial services is essential, preferably with a general insurance provider. Third level qualification (degree or similar) in a relevant subject or relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage; with a Diploma in Compliance (or similar). Excellent knowledge of FCA regulation of financial intermediaries. Knowledge of key compliance and regulatory topics. History of application of compliance risk and risk management practices. Experience in managing different stakeholders across first and second lines of defence.
