As a
Risk Manager Lead
you will be working in the team which sets the framework for operational and conduct risk across the Society. In this role you will be responsible for enhancing the framework with particular attention to design, assessment and management of controls together with reviews of policies. You will be working with senior stakeholders to ensure implementation and embedding of the framework and providing expert advice. This role is within the Enterprise Risk team which is responsible for designing and administering the Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Society. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time you'll spend 40% of your working time,
based at either our Swindon or London office.

What you’ll be doing Enhancing and writing the operational risk framework, particularly with a view to enhancing standards and guidance in relation to control design, assessment, management and ownership. Reviewing controls which have been proposed across the suite of risk policies to ensure conformity against Enterprise Risk Management Framework standards. Providing expert advice on framework application and embedding across all lines of defence, particularly in relation to the control environment. Reviewing Risk Policies to ensure conformity against framework standards. About you As a minimum requirement, you'll have: Recent experience of reviewing Risk Policies and controls to ensure conformity against framework standards. Risk management experience, particularly controls management and testing. Experience of working with operational risk frameworks. Experience of working with risk systems, preferably MetricStream. An ability to work with and challenge senior stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills. An ability to flex and prioritise.
