Roads Engineer
to join BEAR Scotland. This is a unique chance to lead and contribute to the planning, design, and maintenance of Scotland’s key trunk road infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery:
Assist in the design, planning, and delivery of road maintenance schemes, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Technical Expertise:
Support the preparation of detailed designs, contract documentation, and technical approvals. Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure all works adhere to statutory regulations, CDM regulations, and internal safety standards. Site Inspections:
Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify defects and recommend appropriate solutions. Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Documentation Management:
Prepare reports, maintain records, and ensure accurate documentation for all projects. Environmental Awareness:
Ensure environmental screenings and mitigation measures are conducted prior to project commencement. Your Skills and Experience We are interested in hearing from candidates with the following qualifications and skills: Essential: Qualifications:
A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and professional membership (or working towards) with a relevant body (e.g., IEng or CEng, MICE, IHE). Experience:
Demonstrable experience in road design, maintenance, or construction projects, preferably within a highways environment. Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with highway design standards, statutory processes, and project management methodologies. Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to assess situations, identify potential challenges, and recommend effective solutions. Team Player:
A proactive and collaborative approach to engineering tasks. Driving Licence:
