We are looking to recruit an Advanced Surgical Practitioner (ASCP) to join our Robotic theatre team, which covers Colorectal, General Surgery, Gynecology and upper GI Surgery. The Theatre case mix is challenging and specialties include: Upper and Lower GI, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial, Head and Neck, ENT, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics, Emergency Theatres, Day Surgery and Paediatrics, and Robotic surgery. The Theatre teams are passionate about getting it right for patients and their families, and in order to achieve this, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individuals. Once appointed, we will build upon your experience and support you in your new role. Main duties of the job

To provide expert assistance and support in robotic surgery to the Consultant Surgeons, SPRs, theatre staff, and patients involved in robotic surgery. To provide a nurse specialist / Surgical First Assistant qualified nurse/ Surgical First Assistant (SFA) role. The primary purpose of this role is to provide guidance and support based on advanced level knowledge to health professionals concerning a specific disease/condition. Demonstrates significant advanced knowledge and skills within specialty and sphere of practice. Supports training within the Robotic surgery theatre team. Have corporate identity as an expert within the specialist area of robotic surgery. Lead and provide training and education across the organisation in relevant area of practice. About us

Qualifications & Knowledge

Master's degree in Surgical Care Practice or at least relevant experience as a surgical care practitioner with basic surgical skills course. Undertaken undergraduate/postgraduate study in research methodology. Registered nurse or trained surgical care practitioner. Teaching and mentoring qualification. Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning. Recognised as an expert in the field of practice with the ability to clinically assess, diagnose, and treat. Evidence of leading service change. Knowledge and experience of managing and leading a team. Management training and leadership development. Experience

Significant clinical experience of surgical pathways as a nurse within a theatre or CNS role. Experience of assisting in laparoscopy/robotic and open major surgery. Experience in project management. Evidence of leading service change. Skills

Advanced communication skills. Effective communication with proven ability to influence all levels of staff. Ability to work autonomously as an independent practitioner. Proven leadership and team leading skills. Highly advanced physical skills, including highly developed hand to eye coordination. Delivery of the robotic service - ensuring staff, consumables, kit & access to robot is organised in a timely fashion. Communication
