As a student, you will have hands on experience from day one, gaining practical insights into the corporate operations of a world-class automotive manufacturer. Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood – Engineering Roles – 13 Month Placement (July 2025) We have a number of placements within Engineering including Bespoke Engineering Electrical, Bespoke Interior Engineer and Liaison Engineering. This intern role will be within the Bespoke Electrical Engineering Team and will require a high level of enthusiasm, creativity and Innovative thinking, with a keen interested in in Electronics and software (such as Arduino/Pi, Python/C/HTML). In this role you will be supporting the general Bespoke Engineering administrative activities as well as specific Engineering activities such as harness building, soldering, working with ECUs/PCBs as necessary and offer creativity to support experimental electronics with other Engineers (Blue-sky thinking). An awareness of CAN and LINbus for Automotive is desired and knowledge of Automotive tools such as Vector, Picoscope and EMC test equipment would be beneficial. As a Bespoke Interior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing truly one-of-a-kind interiors that embody the pinnacle of luxury and personalization. Working closely with our in-house design team, you will translate their visions into reality, seamlessly blending the finest materials, meticulous attention to detail, and your exceptional engineering expertise. You will Conceptualize and engineer innovative interior solutions that push the boundaries of automotive craftsmanship, as well as Oversee the production and installation of bespoke interior components to ensure flawless execution. Continuously research and incorporate the latest trends, technologies, and techniques to elevate the Rolls-Royce bespoke experience through our experimentation programme and support general Bespoke Engineering administrative activities within the wider team. The Liaison Engineering team are the interface between Series Engineering in Munich and Plant Goodwood. In this role you will be leading and co-ordinating trials of solutions alongside the Engineering department and developing constructive feedback on the modules, tracking of deviations in the process, those currently running and being requested, using structured problem solving techniques to identify and prove complex problem root causes, analysing, visualising and supporting data driven decisions from production line and internal department data sources, playing an active role in overall problem solving process within all production areas, leading and co-ordinating structured Engineering meetings and Implementing a project throughout the placement. The ideal candidate will have good CAD competence (ideally Catia v5 or Siemens NX, Solidworks). Qualifications and Experience Studying towards an Undergraduate degree in Automotive/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or suitable equivalent and on track to achieve a 2.1 standard or higher. Self-motivation and a willing to learn is essential. Candidates should be able to demonstrate good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Broad Material knowledge – both automotive and high-end products. Experience in New Product Development environment would be advantageous. Why choose us?
