If successful, you will be part of our established, integrated therapy service, working across all aspects of acute and community care. Delivery of a high quality service and development of our staff is a high priority. We have an established education programme and strong peer support throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job Rotations are for 6 months and our current rotations: Intermediate care Community rehabilitation and admission avoidance Acute medicine Rapid response therapy services in A& E, AMU and frail elderly. Trauma & Orthopaedics MacMillan Therapy Services Stroke and Neurology
It is essential that applicants are a car driver and have access to a car on a daily basis for some rotations.
Opportunities in this role: Completing assessments and treatment plans for patients with a variety of health conditions and backgrounds. Completing specialist Occupational Therapy assessments. To work in an integrated Therapy service that will further develop your skills and knowledge. Promoting discharge to assess by adopting a 'home first' mindset, and supporting the roll out of the 'discharge to assess' pathway. Champion the role of Occupational Therapy within the department, trust and local area. Opportunity to be involved in supervision of students and develop own skills to become a practice educator. Access to training, supervision, competency frameworks and professional development groups.
Support through Peer group meetings and robust supervision structures.

Person Specification Experience Essential Broad clinical experience at Under-graduate level. Working as part of an Occupational Therapy team and Multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable Involvement in audit and research.
Qualifications Essential Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy. HCPC Registration.
Desirable Portfolio evidence of development. Membership of B.A.O.T.
Knowledge Essential Knowledge of Occupational Therapy at graduate level. Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession. Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Conduct. The ability to comprehend and work within Trust policies of data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety. Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the Occupational Therapy Service.
Desirable Understanding of occupational therapy within acute care.
Communication Essential Able to speak, receive and issue instructions in English concerning patients without risk of misunderstandings in group and individual settings.
