We are looking for bright and enthusiastic pharmacists, with the motivation to develop their clinical knowledge and skills in practice, to join our development programme for clinical pharmacists. The programme includes year-long rotations through areas such as acute medicine, elderly care and long-term conditions, gastroenterology, critical care, urology, thoracic surgery, neurosciences, hyperacute stroke, HIV and sexual health, and women's health including neonates. Your principal job role will focus on direct patient care, applying your therapeutics knowledge and skills to ensure that all our patients receive safe and effective medication throughout their time with the Trust, as both an inpatient and outpatient. Main duties of the job
You will also be introduced to core directorate activities such as reporting and analysis of medicines expenditure, budget planning for tariff-excluded high cost drugs, project management, clinical governance activities, and more general management and leadership roles. With a broad base of general and specific clinical experience, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will also contribute towards the clinical supervision of multi-professional undergraduate students and the mentorship of pre-registration and postgraduate diploma students. You will also provide support for the implementation of general clinical pharmacy initiatives, and participate in audit and clinical research projects. Qualifications, knowledge & competence
Completion of a Master's degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) Full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) A minimum of two-and-a-half years post-registration experience in pharmacy Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy, or satisfactory evidence of equivalent competence, as demonstrated within a practice portfolio Management & leadership skills
Ability to evaluate quality of own work Clinical & interpersonal skills
Demonstrable participation in clinical audit Ability to identify and undertake clinical audit Previous experience of delivering educational material to junior colleagues Identifies own training needs Previous experience in delivering education and training within pharmacy Implements the findings of pharmacy practice research Disclosure and Barring Service Check
