Respiratory (Critical Care, medical and surgical wards) Orthopaedics (trauma & elective) Acute Stroke and Neurology Front of House (Emergency Department and medical assessment wards) You will be expected: To undertake all aspects of clinical duties and to carry a significant caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with complex presentations. To work at an enhanced level and be professionally and legally accountable for a specialised patient caseload, and decide priorities for own work area, without direct supervision. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of work, and the work of staff under the post holder’s supervision. This will include management of clinical risk and clinical governance. Be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and a CPD portfolio. To facilitate implementation and evaluation of physiotherapy clinical outcomes within a designated pathway and monitor adherence with professional and national standards. The successful applicant will gain experience of treating a wide variety of clinical conditions and will also develop their leadership skills by appraisal and supervision of junior staff and students. We are committed to your continued professional development and provide a structured in-service training programme alongside a directed training package for each rotation. Your development will be overseen by experienced Band 7 therapists, many of whom are specialists in their field.
