We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic well motivated either soon to be, or newly registered Pharmacy Technician with excellent dispensing and communication skills to join our friendly, pharmacy team as a Rotational Pharmacy Technician The post holder should be ready for a new challenge and show initiative to build on their knowledge gained from their 2-year initial education and training to develop their foundation practice across an acute hospital. This opportunity will involve working on a rotational basis across the Bournemouth and Poole hospital sites. Full training and support will be provided to assist the candidate in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence mapped from the APTUK Foundation Pharmacy Framework. Upon successful completion of the rotational technician pathway, the post holder will progress to band 5. Mandatory rotations include: Dispensary Services Procurement & Distribution With the option of rotating into: Aseptic services Clinical Trials Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the pharmacy services across the trust and should be adaptable to new situations and be confident to work independently and as part of a team. We welcome applications from candidates who have completed their initial education & training in any area of pharmacy including acute hospital, GP surgery, community pharmacy & primary care. Qualifications

Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent Professional registration with the GPhC Experience

Experience of working in a busy pharmacy department in primary or secondary care Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy department. Experience of using JAC pharmacy computer system Experience of ward based working Experience of working in an Aseptic Unit Demonstrated ability to work methodically and accurately Able to analyse and interpret prescriptions, identify problems and decide upon an appropriate course of action Basic computer literacy & keyboard skills Neat, numerate Knowledge

Good basic understanding of pharmacy law and ethics, roles and responsibilities Good understanding of delivering quality care and providing a safe and efficient service Knowledge of aseptic working Knowledge of medicines optimisation Knowledge of the legal aspects of final accuracy checking and the law relating to prescriptions Personal Attributes

Committed to continuing professional development (CPD) Ability to work with minimum supervision Ability to work well under pressure Aware of own limitations / authority Friendly, professional image Good working relationships with other healthcare professionals Other requirements specific to the role

Able to work flexibly and participate in weekend working, Bank Holiday rotas and other rotas as operational duties require Prepared to work on a rotational basis Prepared to complete the relevant training & competencies in accordance with the foundation pharmacy technician framework Ability to work as part of a team Good written and oral communication Language requirement

Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role Disclosure and Barring Service Check
