We are looking to recruit Band 5 Physiotherapists to join our cross site rotational programme. Core rotations included within this are: Medicine, Surgery, Stroke, Orthopaedics (both trauma and elective), MSK Outpatients, Neuro Rehab Outpatients, General Critical Care, Cardiothoracics, Paediatrics, Neurosciences and Care of the Elderly.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to attend a comprehensive induction programme ran by the Therapy Department before commencing their role as a Physio.

You will be working full time and, following training, be expected to participate in the respiratory on call/weekend rota and also rotational weekend working. Although weekend working is expected for this job role, we strive to maintain flexible working patterns where possible. Part time hours can be considered but will still include weekend and on call duties.

Within this role you will also be offered rotation specific in-service training and clinical supervision in line with HCPC CPD requirements. There are opportunities within the department for future professional development including static job roles and secondments.

Responsibilities:

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with supervision from senior physiotherapists. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of own patient caseload, ensuring a high standard of care. To gain valid informed consent to assessment and treatment. To undertake a comprehensive assessment of the individual patient including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies. To use clinical reasoning skills to formulate an accurate clinical diagnosis of their condition and set therapeutic/rehabilitation objectives. To formulate and implement individualised clinical management programmes, utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to plan a programme of care. To evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required. To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers, other disciplines and agencies to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy. To attend and contribute to board rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure the co-ordination of patient care, including reviewing patient progress and discharge planning. To participate in the weekend and on call respiratory service.

Minimum Requirements:

Work in accordance with the CSP and HCPC rules of professional conduct and within local care pathways, policies and standards. Professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of his/her own professional activities and to manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times, whilst remaining responsible to Team Leader/Clinical Specialist. Promote awareness of the role of Physiotherapy. Work as an autonomous member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programmes. Responsible for own competence to practice and personal development, keeping up to date with physiotherapy practice in order to maintain competence and fitness to practice as a physiotherapist. Demonstrate a good understanding and application of national guidelines and legislation relating to health and social care in service provision. Responsible for the supervision and written assessment of Physiotherapy students on practice placement within the Trust.
