Location: Lisburn Salary: This position is entirely voluntary and is therefore unpaid Are you organised, enthusiastic, and passionate about nature? The RSPB Lisburn Group is looking for a volunteer indoor meetings organiser to help us plan engaging events that bring people together to learn about wildlife and conservation. For more details and to apply for this role, please visit the RSPB volunteering site: Our RSPB Local Groups are made up of volunteers from local communities who are passionate about saving nature. Local Group volunteers run a range of activities from outdoor walks and indoor talks to fun fundraising events, alongside campaigning to help inspire, educate and mobilise more people to connect to and save nature in the UK. There are over 160 groups operating across the UK with a variety of skills and expertise, so we are always looking for someone new to join our mission! The RSPB is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity! Join our fantastic volunteers who are helping to inspire everyone to give nature a home and secure a healthy environment for wildlife. We will help you gain skills and give you an invaluable insight into our essential work. What you will do Co-ordinate the annual programme of indoor meetings. Contacting and booking an appropriate range of speakers for the September to May indoor programme. Ensuring the draft programme is approved by the local RSPB office. Supporting and assisting members before and during meetings to ensure they have the information and support required. Liaising with the group Treasurer ensure their expenses/fees are appropriately paid. What skills you need Essential skills: A good organiser with an eye for detail. A friendly, reliable and outgoing approach. Good time management. Great team player, liaising with other members of the group while planning meetings, A resourceful and flexible approach to be able to engage with a variety of audiences. Computer literate with email access. Passion and enthusiasm to help give nature a home.
