Dewsbury Town Hall and Civic Centre 3. The purpose of this role is to work with individuals, families and communities to fully investigate and address Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). The focus is on effective, complex case management and partnership working. The post involves working in communities to prevent and tackle ASB. The post holder will have expertise in the use of relevant tools and powers. You will provide engagement and educational input for young people in schools and other settings to prevent ASB and promote responsible citizenship. You will undertake targeted community engagement to educate residents and gain understanding of their issues to enable an appropriate and effective response. You will work closely with partnership frontline officers and other stakeholders, including elected members, to share knowledge and increase collaborative working to reduce ASB. You will provide advice and guidance to key professionals and training to key staff. You will contribute to community safety problem solving groups to understand and address recurrent locations and people associated with ASB, developing sustainable solutions by addressing underlying causes. Requirements for this job: Have a clear understanding of approaches to resolve ASB Promote/practice mediation and other lower level interventions Demonstrate an empathetic, bespoke approach to both perpetrators, victims and witnesses Ensure that case work is progressed in a timely manner with a victim centered approach Excellent knowledge of tools and powers relating to ASB and an ability to use these effectively and proportionately Ability to identify complex needs in challenging situations and apply professional curiosity Promote and apply safeguarding procedures in all casework and to attend any training required in this respect Able to deliver educational resources within schools or similar settings Produce documents and write letters to a high standard Ensure that cases have been fully investigated, are recorded clearly and that all appropriate legal actions are considered. Excellent communication skills with experience of partnership working to solve problems and achieve shared outcomes. To effectively manage and prepare serious cases of ASB for legal action Knowledge of court process and procedures – civil and criminal including production of information and statements of sufficient quality for courts & panels. To attend court An ability to be self-motivated Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone and by letters tailored to the individual. Hold a full driving licence and have ability and flexibility to travel to various locations in order to carry out the duties of the job. Ability to work in a confidential area and appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. This job is subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level.
