SAFETY CASE ADVISORS

working from Whitehaven in West Cumbria, with the option for hybrid or remote working being considered for candidates from other areas.

About the Project: 4 x Safety Case Advisors for the Magnox Swarf Storage Silos (MSSS) Safety Case workstream to support the Safety Case Manager (SCM) in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of the Safety Case for MSSS.

Areas that require support include:

MSSS Baseline safety case maintenance. Retrievals projects - Ventilation / Liquor Level Management / future retrievals. Heat Management - Enhancement of cooling capability.

About the Role: Providing high quality safety case advice and documentation for MSSS Safety Case development and safety case implementation - in line with the expectations of SL Safety Case Process Requirements ensuring that the safety case delivered is clear and user friendly for all stakeholders. Working collaboratively with other disciplines to develop and implement safety assessments, along with activities associated with the broader safety case including engineering schedule, operator instructions, maintenance instructions, training packages etc. Facilitating communication between relevant stakeholders during the verification of the safety case. Presenting safety case documents to safety committees on behalf of the SCM (as required). Overseeing the production and completion of Safety Case Implementation Plans (SCIPs). Producing / supporting the production of / review of PMPs. Supporting the delivery of operator briefings regarding safety case change. Supporting engagements with Regulatory bodies and other external stakeholders for the associated facility safety case.

Essential Skills and Experience: Good communication and report writing skills. The ability to manage and track deliverables (i.e. ability to organise). An understanding of SL safety case processes would be beneficial but not essential as familiarisation will be gained as part of the role.

Ideal location would be Sellafield area; however, remote working is available so other locations will also be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
