Safety Manager (Activities, Adventure, Events) Salary: £56,800 - £66,800 benefits Location: London SW1 / hybrid working

Overview: The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and delivering strategies and operations related to activity health and safety for programs and events. This includes overseeing safety protocols for adventure activities, travel, and events while ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices. The role excludes employment health and safety and property management but focuses on safeguarding participants and staff involved in activities. Responsibilities: Lead and motivate a team of health and safety professionals to achieve organisational objectives. Act as the organisation's expert on activity health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations. Develop, implement, and improve policies, frameworks, and training to maintain a high standard of safety. Stay updated on legislation, anticipate impacts, and provide recommendations to align operations with emerging requirements. Partner with teams across the UK to support safety initiatives and ensure understanding of protocols. Investigate incidents or near-misses and implement lessons learned to improve safety practices. Provide practical advice on creating and maintaining safe systems for activities. Represent the organisation in external and internal events, presenting on safety-related topics. Build and manage a network of volunteer safety champions to enhance implementation across the organisation. Deliver safety performance insights to leadership and provide assurance to the Audit & Risk Committee. Oversee the development of digital tools to streamline compliance processes. Requirements: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) CertIOSH, GradIOSH or CMIOSH (or equivalent) Excellent communication skills Flexible, adaptable approach This newly created role offers an opportunity to shape safety practices in a dynamic environment, ensuring participants and staff experience activities in a secure and well-regulated setting.
