The role: As a Safety Engineer, you'll lead and influence the safety assurance of advanced missile systems, ensuring high-quality Hazard Analyses and Safety Case Reports. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and customers, you'll balance safety requirements with engineering challenges to deliver cost-effective, evidence-based safety solutions. With a focus on mentoring junior engineers, you'll drive compliance with safety standards like Def Stan 00-056 while optimizing processes to meet complex system certification requirements. Strong leadership, systems engineering expertise, and a background in complex electronic systems are key to success in this role. What we want from you: Extensive experience with UK and international safety and systems engineering standards, particularly Def Stan 00-056. Skilled in producing and delivering Safety Case Reports and supporting analyses (Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FTA) to demonstrate effective hazard mitigation. Strong leadership with a passion for mentoring and developing team members, ensuring projects are adequately resourced with the right skills. Comprehensive knowledge of integrating safety evaluation into systems engineering certification processes. In-depth expertise in complex electronic systems and safety, with flexibility to consider candidates from design, software, or manufacturing disciplines.
