In partnership with the City of Tipton Police Department, Tipton Community School Corporation has one school resource officer (SRO), David Maddox.
Our school resource officer is a full-time law enforcement officer with sworn law enforcement authority who is trained in school-based policing and crisis response. Our SRO is certified by the National Association of School Resource Officers and utilizes the triad concept of school-based policing of law enforcement officer, informal counselor/mentor, and educator. He is a liaison between the Tipton Police Department and TCSC.
Officer David Maddox has worked for the Tipton Police Department since 2011 and has been an SRO since the fall of 2018. Officer Maddox holds the following credentials:
Advance School Safety Specialist with the Indiana Dept of Education
Master-Level SRO with the Indiana School Resource Officers Association (INSROA)
National Practitioner with the National School Resource Officers Association (NASRO)
Currently sits on the executive board of INSROA as the Regional Rep Director
