Salaried GP for a 6-Month Fixed Term Maternity
Leatside Health Centre is looking for an enthusiastic salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for a 6-month fixed term contract to cover for Maternity Leave. We are forward thinking and committed to providing multidisciplinary services for our local population. Main duties of the job
Provide all GP services required Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate Provide appropriate preventative health care and advice Adhere to the practice prescribing formulary, local and national guidelines Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation Record clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions Support practice staff, and respond to requests for advice and assistance from the reception, secretarial, prescription, PA and nursing staff Attend MDT, clinical and practice meetings Provide additional enhanced services to the practice that meet the needs of the patient population and maximise income streams to the practice Awareness and compliance with all relevant practice policies & guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and QOF In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care About us
We are forward thinking and committed to providing multidisciplinary services for our local population. We are also an established training practice (with GP Registrars and Medical Students). We hold a daily coffee session, with the opportunity for clinical staff to discuss any patient/clinical issues. We are a large busy surgery located in Redruth, Cornwall, and have a combined list of circa 17,000 patients, with 6 Partners. We are members of North Kerrier East PCN. Job responsibilities

Full GMC registration National Performers List registration (England), noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU/MDDUS) Evidence of current validation Evidence of last appraisal Eligibility to practice in the UK independently Qualifications
Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Experience of QOF and clinical audit Minimum of two years as a salaried GP Experience of medicines management Experience
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Clear, polite telephone manner Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP Competent in the use of Office and Outlook Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Excellent interpersonal skills Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience with audit Experience with clinical risk management Disclosure and Barring Service Check
