The Sales and Marketing Engineer will play a key role in supporting sales and marketing efforts within the High-Performance Polymers (HPP) division. The role includes managing leads, supporting inside sales, contributing to digital marketing initiatives, and identifying new business opportunities, with a focus on delivering technical expertise and driving business growth.

Within 1-2 years, the employee is expected to independently manage a territory of accounts within the United States, offering the company’s diverse range of polymer products. This role offers opportunities for career growth into positions such as field sales, technical services, business development, or supply chain management. Relocation may be required for specific roles or career advancements. Open to hire after May 2025.

Sales Functions (70%)

Manage the lead and contact management process to ensure effective follow-up on leads from activities and promotions. Performance will be measured by the number of leads resulting in sales calls, visits, or seminars. Act as inside sales support, providing customers and users with technical information and maintaining strong communication and relationships with stakeholders and customers. Qualify leads to enable efficient follow-up by the sales and business development teams. Represent the company at relevant trade shows to support business objectives, ensuring timely follow-through on agreed-upon actions and initiatives. Investigate new business opportunities as defined by the business teams. Execute special projects to support core markets.

Marketing Functions (30%)

Identify and implement improvements to existing marketing/sales tools and content and prepare marketing plans and reports as required. Provide support for digital marketing initiatives, ensuring completion of assigned projects. Define market areas where new product development activities are possible, focusing on growth opportunities in HPP products.

Qualifications 0-2 years of experience in sales or marketing within the engineering polymers industry. An undergraduate degree is required (preferably in technical science or engineering), with a master’s degree considered a bonus.

Competencies Develop a thorough understanding of Arkema High Performance Polymers and recommend specific grades based on customer needs. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Confidently deliver technical and business presentations. Ability to document activities effectively, including timely monthly reports and call updates. Ability to handle and analyze large datasets, synthesizing information into actionable insights. Support and participate in digital marketing initiatives. Exhibit creativity and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and other communication tools. Adhere to corporate policies, including safety, expense reporting, pricing, and competitive guidelines. Organize travel within an allocated budget to support sales and marketing activities. Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements. Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.) Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, or injury incidents.
