Position: Sales Data Stewardship Lead Job Description: At Mars Snacking, we are on an ambitious journey to rewire and almost double the size of our business by 2030. We see digital and data as an increasing multiplier of value across not just Mars Wrigley, but also the Health and Wellness and Retail global business units of Mars Snacking. With this in mind, we recently established the Chief Data Office (CDO) Organization to define and execute the end-to-end enterprise data strategy inclusive of data and platform governance associated with AI for the company. The CDO organization will serve as an accelerator to our Mars Snacking's next generation of data-led AI journey. The Sales Data Stewardship Lead is part of the Chief Data Office Organization within Mars Snacking, directly supporting the Global Director of Enterprise & AI Stewardship and Delivery - Sales Domain. In this pivotal role, the lead will be partnering with regional, global and transformational Functional Leads to effectively analyse, document, organize, optimize and orchestrate all aspects of enterprise data, including the data foundation, analytics and AI. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:

Support the Global Director - Data & AI Stewardship and Delivery - Sales Domain in the leadership and execution of a fully integrated Data and AI Stewardship Strategy for Sales Domain. Align stewardship efforts with business objectives and priorities. Guide Global and Regional functional Leads with Data & AI enabled automation opportunities to simplify and automate business processes in digitization journey. Develop and execute templates and frameworks for the capture of complex data design, functional and business process metadata. Build a backlog to support data improvements, quick wins and prioritization for Sales.

Data Governance, Quality, and Metadata Management Orchestration:

Capture data object and critical data element mappings against business functions and processes within Sales. Facilitate adherence to data governance policies, and guide the management of data standards, and execution of data quality discipline across E2E Sales function scope. Collaborate closely with the Data Governance program office and data technology capability teams to ensure functional requirements are addressed and prioritized. Collaborate with the Data Architecture program office to produce a technology-agnostic logical data model which serves all aspects of Sales function. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams (as necessary) to address ethical considerations related to data use in AI. Ensure the metadata is captured, curated, and maintained over time so it stays FAIR i.e. Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

Data in support of AI/Analytics Deployment for Sales:

Analyse, document, optimize and orchestrate plans for fit-for-AI/Analytics data to enable functional use cases for Sales Domain. Work closely with data architects, data modelers/engineers, data scientists and AI engineers to ensure data is mapped, tested and ready for analytics models. Coordinate with the Sales Domain transformation team to continuously improve, monitor, and publish KPI metrics related to usage adoption of analytic and AI capabilities.

Cross-functional, market and regional collaboration:

Work closely with data stewards and custodians from global, regions, markets, etc. to orchestrate timely and right level of support for data issues across Sales. Engage with and manage relationships with business and digital technology stakeholders to facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities effectively.

Continuous improvement and Innovation:

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Adapt data stewardship processes to evolving needs within E2E Sales. Support change management and data literacy/training needs of Sales domain scope.

Coaching and Guiding the Data & AI Stewardship Community:

Guide and or manage data stewards for a durable data culture at Mars Snacking.

In addition, the ideal candidate also exhibits following traits: Self-starter with strong business acumen who understands organizational issues, and challenges. Ability to communicate and discuss technical solutions with business partners in a meaningful way. Entrepreneurial and collaborative in nature who enjoys being able to navigate changing direction of programs and strategies as they evolve. Skills to understand the culture and emotional blockers for people's willingness to embrace change. Experience presenting data related ideas and program updates flawlessly to a wide range of business teams and leads. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or business analytics or related major with equivalent business experience. MBA/Master's degree preferred. Proven 10+ years of experience in large scale data management and business transformation. Preferred Qualifications: Strong expertise in data domains such as Customer, Vendor, Sales/Order, Forecasting, Contracts, Co-pack/Co-man, promotions, price and so on. Experience with SAP S/4, Kinaxis, Nielsen data, Salesforce, TPM, etc preferred. Recent experience as global data steward / chief data steward is preferred. Significant experience in data strategy, data architecture, data management, and/or data quality, analytics and AI, and other related technical discipline. Experience analysing and understanding business processes to determine and capture data requirements. Experience managing and/or coordinating a variety of technical and non-technical talent in complex programs from a data-related function. Deep understanding of data modelling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical) preferred. Experience with various data governance, catalog and quality tools such as Collibra, Informatica, SAP, and/or Microsoft Purview. Experience with Master Data Management, SAP MDG and core data objects such as Material, Customer, Vendor data. Data transformation experience within the Consumer Products & Goods industry is preferred but not required. Experience building Power BI, Tableau, or similar for executive dashboards and reports. Experience engaging with technical and non-technical audiences and all levels of employees to understand their priorities and related data skill needs.
