Our client is one of the UK's leading independent timber and building supplies merchants with branches located across the South East. Due to an internal promotion, they are looking to recruit a Sales Manager to assist their Branch Manager in the daily running of one of their top-performing branches and drive sales and margin growth. Position Overview

This role will involve running the branch in the Branch Manager's absence, managing staff, and driving sales and profitability. You will also be accountable for maximizing sales with new and existing trade and retail customers and converting their enquiries into sales. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and motivate internal sales staff members. Manage the branch and deputize for the existing Branch Manager whenever he is away from the branch or on holiday. Answer incoming phone calls and deal with customers face to face over the trade counter. Convert initial contacts to sales. Produce quotes and send them out. Manage CRM, chase warm leads, and follow up on opportunities. Provide technical advice, support, and aftersales. Identify existing customers where there is an opportunity to increase annual spend and develop a trade relationship. Deal with daily administrative tasks including staff rotas. Candidate

They will have a warm management style, great product knowledge, and the ability to build relationships with their customers. A successful candidate will be IT literate and able to pick up the systems quickly and enter data accurately.
