Excellent Salary + Car Allowance + Team Bonus + Pension The Role Working with a truly varied sector base where no two days are the same, the Sales Manager will lead a consultative led approach to guide customers to the best solutions for their requirements. You will proactively develop new business and support successful pre-existing accounts, formulating a short-, medium- and long-term sales strategy to help grow the business. The Sales Manager will visit customer sites and support initial project scoping in a technical capacity, ably supported by the engineering team back at base. Supporting customers on a ‘cradle to grave’ basis, you will assist from initial scoping through to delivery and product aftercare. The Sales Manager will create quotations and tender documents, alongside having a strong input to the ‘project’ aspect of the delivery cycle, including being the first point of contact for customer queries and new enquiries. The Person The successful candidate for the role of Sales Manager will possess proven engineering sales expertise, including the ability to develop bespoke solutions in partnership with customers, alongside the ability to read technical drawings and a good awareness of the first principles of mechanical engineering. The Sales Manager will be required to travel UK wide to customer sites, and some international travel including the USA, Middle East, and China will be required occasionally. The role is an integral part of the business and a genuine opportunity to shape and develop the sales strategy in your own vision. Previous experience in selling bespoke solutions, particularly in the field of high-value specialist capital equipment, is highly desirable for the role. While a degree is not required, a level of familiarity with mechanical engineering and the tendering process in selling high-value equipment is essential for the position.
