As a Commercial Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage sales activities across Ireland and the UK for our retail mattress products. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by building relationships with key retail partners and driving sales growth in line with the company’s objectives to build brand presence in the market. So, what will you be doing as a Commercial Sales Manager? Sales Strategy & Execution:

Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the retail market in Ireland and the UK, ensuring alignment with overall company goals. Set sales targets and develop plans to achieve them across both regions. Manage a sales team of 8, with 5 team members based in Ireland and 3 in the UK. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure individual and team success. Lead the disciplined execution of our ways of working and actively work to resolve potential barriers and issues as they arise. Conduct regular performance reviews, set development plans, and foster a high-performance culture.

Retail Partner Management:

Build and nurture relationships with key retail partners, ensuring consistent engagement and support. Work closely with retail outlets to optimize product placement, promotions, and sales strategies.

Market Analysis & Insights:

Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform sales strategy adjustments. Provide regular market feedback to senior management to support product development and marketing initiatives. Track sales performance against targets, preparing and presenting regular sales reports and forecasts. Identify gaps and opportunities in performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Liaise with marketing, product development, customer service, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of sales plans. Contribute to product launch strategies and promotional campaigns.

Budget & Resource Management:

Manage the sales budget for the Ireland and UK regions, ensuring optimal use of resources. Oversee sales incentives and commission structures for the team.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Proven experience as a business-to-business Sales Manager, preferably within the retail or consumer goods sector. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating sales teams to meet or exceed targets. A results-oriented leader with excellent organizational skills and the ability to operate in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Deep understanding of the retail landscape in Ireland and the UK. Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Strategic mindset with the ability to translate market data into actionable sales strategies. Experienced Office 365 user – Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Willingness to travel frequently across both Ireland and the UK. Experience in the bedding or home furnishings sector is advantageous but not essential. Willingness to attend industry events, trade shows, and visit key retail locations.
