The Role:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and profitability within the Distribution & Wholesale sector in the UK and Ireland. This remote role involves collaborating with the leadership team to develop and implement effective sales strategies. Additionally, the Sales Manager will oversee financial performance, marketing initiatives, and team management.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the UK&I and EMEA Commercial Leadership teams to develop and execute a comprehensive commercial growth strategy for the UK&I distribution sector.
  • Team Management: Motivate, manage, and develop a team of 5 National Account Managers, providing ongoing coaching and guidance.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at strategic customer accounts, including top-level executives and technical teams.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve volume and profit targets.
  • Negotiation and Pricing: Lead negotiations with customers to secure favourable deals and pricing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, pricing, sourcing, and supply chain teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and track performance against key metrics, ensuring the team meets or exceeds targets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within the team through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Travel: Daily travel as needed across the UK & Ireland with up to 10% travel across EMEA.


About You:

  • Advanced Degree: At least a bachelors degree in Economics, Business, or Food Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven Leadership: A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in sales, marketing, or R&D within the foodservice industry.
  • Deep Market Understanding: Strong insights into market trends, consumer preferences, and customer needs.
  • Multilingualism: Fluency in English is essential, with additional European languages being beneficial.
