You would need to ensure that you are able to work rotational shift patterns between the hours of 7.30am- 8.30pm. Sample Inventory Technicians perform a variety of tasks, which supports the accurate chain of custody and tracking of all samples. Responsibilities include the receipt, storage, retrieval, disposal and despatch of valuable and unique biological samples. In addition, they are trained on how to operate and maintain sample storage systems, both manual and automated as well as understanding the importance of complying with appropriate standard operating procedures. Working in close collaboration with the Laboratory and Warehouse staff, the Sample Inventory Team will ensure that all work is completed to meet the needs of the client. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all personal tasks are planned and deadlines are met. Compliance with sample handling procedures iaw relevant SOPs. Accurate recording of sample receipting data. Storage of samples in appropriate locations. Maintaining accurate inventory management records. Ensuring the accuracy of storage data in the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Dealing with samples/lab materials arriving and leaving the facility through Goods In/Out. Maintenance of laboratory consumable stock records (Sage). Adherence to ISO quality standards. Compliance with Health and Safety documentation and procedures. Maintaining the sample storage areas in a tidy condition. Safe operation and maintenance of manual and automated storage systems and equipment. Temperature monitoring of all storage systems and immediate response to any critical alarm conditions. Sample retrieval iaw client/laboratory picking requirements. Sample despatch iaw client and statutory requirements. Sample disposal/destruction iaw client instructions and HTA requirements. Any other reasonable task which may be required outside of normal duties. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Minimum 2 years full time employment The ability to listen and clearly demonstrate understanding of ideas and instructions. The ability to plan, organise and control a number of different activities. Sets and maintains high standards for self. Ensures the required high quality standards and completion of tasks to plan are consistently met. The ability to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a small team. Must have a collaborative style both in approach to own area and supporting others. Excellent attention to detail. IT literate with competency in MS Office 2016 particularly MS Excel.
