Reporting to the SARC Manager, the SARC Patient Crisis Worker (SPCW) will play a vital role in coordinating various aspects of SARC activities. The SPCW will undergo training to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, which includes providing support for the Forensic Examination Service at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). The SARC Patient Crisis Worker (SPCW) will be responsible for providing telephone information and support to patients and their families, managing the administration and coordination of visits by adults, children, and families, including supporting the patient on their journey through the examination, and assisting with the use of the colposcope during the examination procedure. The role also involves delivering advocacy support to patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate and patient-centred approach, while maintaining high standards through Anti-Contamination processes and measures. Job responsibilities

Location: Thames Valley (Bicester) and additional locations through the South East Payment Rates: Retainer £45.84, Attendance £12.21 per hour Rota Patterns will be: 12 Hours Monday - Sunday Acting as the advocate for patients who attend the centre, you will empower service users to feel in control and be able to support during the forensic process and administration to manage patient care pathways and day to day service delivery. In addition, the SPCW will work closely with the SARC Manager to recruit and train zero-hour SPCW, support outreach programs to raise awareness of SARC services, and assist in achieving and maintaining UKAS accreditation for the service. Support the implementation and ongoing delivery of ISO 15189 and the FSR Code of Practice. These activities include: Training and competency assessing new SPCW in forensic cleaning. Book in forensic consumables ensuring acceptance testing and inventory management is complete. Assist with DNA Environmental Monitoring where applicable. Auditing anti-contamination processes. Understanding contamination risks associated with the activities undertaken as part of their role. The SPCW will also oversee the continued support of patients following their initial visit to the SARC, which includes conducting follow-up calls, regular check-ins, and coordinating onward referrals, such as housing support, as part of a six-week patient case management program. The SPCW will offer sensitive and non-judgmental support, empowering service users to regain control, rebuild their self-esteem, and progress positively in their recovery journey. Company Benefits

Qualifications

Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e. Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across SARC's, therefore a UK driving license is required for this role and access to a vehicle.
