£60k-£70k About the Role: I am seeking a talented SATCOM Engineer to join a cutting-edge Research and Development (R&D) team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, testing, and optimisation of satellite communication systems, with a focus on the integration of 5G technologies and advanced space systems. Your experience in telecoms, antenna systems, and space technology will be highly valued as you work on innovative solutions in a fast-evolving field. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support R&D projects aimed at advancing satellite communication systems and technologies. Design and develop SATCOM systems, with a focus on integrating 5G networks and satellite infrastructure. Design, analyse, and optimise antenna systems for satellite communications. Conduct experiments, simulations, and tests to drive the development of next-generation SATCOM technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement satellite communication solutions for both commercial and government applications. Analyse customer requirements and develop engineering solutions to meet those needs. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards within the SATCOM and telecom sectors. Key Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master's preferred). Some experience or exposure to satellite communications, space systems, and telecom technologies. Hands-on experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D) within SATCOM or related fields. Experience with antenna systems design, analysis, and optimisation for satellite communications. Familiarity with 5G technology and its integration with satellite communications networks. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically in a research setting. Ability to work in a collaborative R&D environment, bringing new ideas to life. Excellent communication skills for technical documentation, presentations, and cross-functional team collaboration. Desirable Skills: Experience with satellite communication standards and protocols (e.g., DVB-S2, 5G NR). Knowledge of telecom and space technologies. Understanding of regulatory standards for satellite communications. Familiarity with antenna simulation and design tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, FEKO).
