Space Forge is a fast-growing in-space manufacturing company. We are developing the world’s first returnable and re-launchable satellite platform, the ForgeStar. Space Forge is transforming return from space to enable new techniques to produce products and services for the benefit of all. The ForgeStar can support a wide array of missions, from in-space manufacturing of new materials and microgravity research, to planetary landing systems and deep space exploration. We are now in a position to bring on board a Satellite Operations Engineer who has a desire to be part of our journey to build something unique and special. Someone who has experienced fast company growth and the challenges that come along with it. What will you do?

Be part of managing the in-orbit operations of our upcoming ForgeStar-1 Organise operations at the launch site for our satellites Organise rehearsals and simulations of operational situations Continuously improve our operational procedures and best practices Drive the development of a satellite simulator to support operational training and procedure development Support the development of the operational concept of our next satellite; the ForgeStar-2 Key responsibilities

Perform on-console operations, as part of a shift pattern Drive the development of procedures for operating the satellite on-ground and on-orbit Managing operational satellite health Supporting on-ground operations of the satellite (either in simulators or during testing) Capturing and defining operational requirements for future satellites Technical skills:

Essential -

Experience of working with satellites At least intermediate level programming experience (ideally in Python) Desirable -

Hands-on experience in a control room environment Experience with user interface design (ideally Grafana) Experience with RF communications systems Experience of training colleagues/teaching experience Soft skills:

Able to communicate with teams working both on-site and remote Able to communicate professionally with customers and external stakeholders Resilient and adaptable to technical and non-technical roadblocks, as many are expected Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and ability to work with precision Good communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies Candidate must be proficient in English Why Space Forge?

Salary range: £40,000 to 55,000 per annum, depending on knowledge, experience and skills.
