Our client are an SME who specialise in developing secure digital solutions for Defence and National Security and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join them on their growth journey! They offer excellent development and training opportunities whilst working in an enthusiastic and passionate team. You will have experience across front-end and cloud technologies, as well as some experience of Python, Java or Go back-end skills. Working Patterns – Full Time onsite in Cheltenham with 1 day per week in Herefordshire (expensed) Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions to be deployed on cloud platforms. Work hand-in-hand with clients to understand their requirements and develop scalable and reliable software solutions. Implement cloud services on AWS or Azure. Develop UIs using JavaScript or TypeScript. Use Java, Python or Go to develop and implement back-end solutions. Maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment. Implement software best practice and participate in code reviews. Streamline deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments using Docker. Work within a team to provide feedback and deliver quality software. Skills & experience
Experience in a Senior Software Engineering position before with the ability to take technical leadership. Be a real ‘team player’ and be motivated to help grow the business. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering. Experience of deploying on AWS or Azure Front-end development using JavaScript, Typescript or React. Java, Python or Go back-end development Experience of GIT, Docker and DevOps (CI/CD) processes. Agile Development would be ideal. Additional benefits
