Role Overview: We are seeking a Scala Developer with banking/financial services experience to join our team of Scala developers. You will be a key player in the equity swaps project, working on creating an equity swaps environment from scratch within Equities Technology. Our team, consisting of 19 professionals in the UK, with 10 dedicated Scala developers, is committed to an OPEX project that is funded for at least 2.5 more years. Key Responsibilities: Combine Scala development expertise with coaching and support for team members. Act as a trusted authority and specialist, providing advice and guidance to team members and managers. Collaborate with a team of Scala developers and software engineers to build a robust equity swaps environment. Take ownership of tech decisions and balance speed, quality, and functionality within the equity swaps project. Work closely with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions for equity swaps. Mentor and collaborate with software teams on code review, version control, architecture, pair programming, and software design specific to equity swaps.
