Job overview Are you a registered Nurse/Midwife looking for a new challenge? Do you enjoy working in a busy and varied environment? We are looking for an experienced manager with immunisation experience, to lead the Banbury and Witney school aged vaccination team in the delivery of the School Aged Immunisation Programme in Primary, Secondary and Independent Schools as well as other community venues. The role will be based in Witney with frequent travel to Banbury. Main duties of the job The ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the Service is essential, as is a willingness to explore alternative methods of immunisation delivery to reduce health inequalities in hard-to-reach groups. You will identify barriers to vaccination and introduce innovative ways of overcoming them. The role offers a flexible working pattern, to meet service need requiring occasional evening and weekend working. You will be offered the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills through regular training and study days and by working alongside experienced colleagues. Previous experience of working in schools or other environments with children and young people is advantageous but not essential. This is a fast moving and very busy role so the ability to work well under pressure and to be a key team player is a must. We are looking for adaptable, flexible people with excellent skills who will enjoy working in a challenging and busy environment. To ensure that vaccination sessions commence on time you may need to start at 07.30 on prearranged days and also be able to work evenings and weekends. The ability to be flexible with one’s working pattern is therefore essential. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for work. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. Please describe your management experience. Person specification Qualifications – Academic/Skills/Professional Nursing Degree or Equivalent Qualification. Evidence of relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent experience Teaching Qualification Nurse Prescriber Experience and Knowledge Requirements Extensive experience of delivering and implementing immunisation programmes, including in non-NHS venues Evidence of recent managerial experience Demonstrate an understanding of multidisciplinary / skill mix workforce management Evidence of current knowledge of National and Local policies and ability to relate it to practice.
