School Care Assistant - Kingston Upon Thames

We are currently recruiting for a School Care Assistant to support children within an SEN school based in Kingston Upon Thames. The role will be working full-time to support students with moderate to severe Special Educational Needs who require personal care such as feeding, washing, dressing, and some medicating. Some students will be wheelchair-bound and non-verbal. The activities will be both on and off-site to support children with their independence and readiness for life after leaving school. The role will be based in a SEN school where most students will have 1:1 support, if not 2:1, and will be in small groups and classes of a maximum of 10. Although this role is predominantly 1:1, there will be support when needed, but as a School Care Assistant, you will be required to support children without supervision when necessary. Requirements: Either live in Kingston or within a commutable distance Have an enhanced child & adult DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one Experience as a School Care Assistant is preferred, though not essential Must have SEN experience Be comfortable performing personal care when needed If successful, you will be a School Care Assistant throughout the entire academic year with the potential of going permanent in the future.
