HSA Locums is looking for a senior nurse with experience working at schools. You will be in charge running a small team (1 HCA and 1 nurse) 30 hours spread from Monday to Saturday. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our educational team. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This position requires effective communication skills, strong time management abilities, and leadership qualities to manage health care plans and respond to the diverse needs of students. Duties Assess and evaluate students' health needs and provide appropriate nursing care. Develop, implement, and manage individualised care plans for students with chronic health conditions. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding health issues and concerns. Provide first aid and emergency care as needed, ensuring a prompt response to medical situations. Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with school policies. Educate students on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention. Collaborate with school staff to promote a healthy school environment through wellness initiatives. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills. Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with a valid nursing licence. Previous experience in paediatric or school nursing is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Leadership abilities to guide students in health-related matters and collaborate with educational staff. Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans for students with specific health needs. A commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students.
