Overview As Tokamak Energy continues to evolve, the way we work and structure our business needs to align with our vision and strategy. As part of a wider business restructure and goal to ensure we can deliver and innovate at pace and adapt to change, we have an exciting new opportunity to work closely alongside our SET Heads of Department, supporting the Chief Technology Officer and Company Chief Engineer. In collaboration with the SET leads, the role provides necessary focus and capacity on the strategic value and integration of work performed by SET and other teams, as well as collaboration within SET, in order to deliver on internal and external commitments. The SET directorate comprises over 120 diverse, talented members and is led by the Chief Technology Officer. Directly line manage (oversee the welfare, capacity, development of) a select number of leaders. Work with line managers (mainly SET Heads of Department) throughout the directorate daily to drive delivery including in the areas of: * People management and people development (capability mapping, succession planning, stretch/growth, retention) * Technology development and integration with programmes/products/services and the company strategy * Budget and resource planning In doing so the post-holder must create and rely upon: * Strong working relationships within the company, across all staff and line managers and with all technical and non-technical functions in Tokamak Energy, especially those leading on company strategy. * Simple and reliable work-flow management systems. Experience in successful implementation of improvement projects and change initiatives, including organisational change. Possess or can quickly gain credibility within a technically dominated company. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across a diverse, multi-disciplinary internal stakeholder group. Commercially savvy (IP, commercial drivers, competitor intelligence, etc). Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent within a relevant technical discipline.
